AML & KYC statement

Fiat Swap's position on anti-money-laundering (AML), counter-terrorist-financing (CFT), and know-your-customer (KYC) obligations. This page complements our terms of service and sanctions policy.

Who performs KYC and AML checks

Providers do — not Fiat Swap. When you pick a quote and click through, you leave our comparison flow and land on that provider's own hosted checkout. From that point, the provider — currently MoonPay or Transak — performs identity verification, source-of-funds checks where applicable, sanctions and watchlist screening, and ongoing transaction monitoring, under its own regulatory authorization and its own AML program.

Why Fiat Swap doesn't perform KYC or AML itself

Fiat Swap does not collect government-issued identity documents, biometric data, selfies, or proof of address, and does not screen users against sanctions or watchlists itself. That's a direct consequence of what the site does and doesn't do: we fetch live quotes from each provider's pricing API, show them side by side, and hand you off to whichever provider you choose. We never take custody of your crypto or your money, never execute or settle the conversion ourselves, and are not a party to the transaction you complete with the provider. AML-obligated entities are the ones actually moving money or crypto — that's the provider, not the comparison layer in front of it. See section 2 of our terms for the full breakdown of what Fiat Swap is and isn't.
